giving back to nature

Proceeds raised will help to fund vital research on marine turtle populations in Cyprus, as part of my Master’s thesis.

I am collaborating with Enalia Physis, a local Environmental Research Centre, to study the impact of tourism on protected turtles in key hot spots across the island.

Without the funds raised through these classes, I would be unable to carry out the necessary field work. So I am extremely grateful to any of you who decide to join, and you can be proud that you are directly contributing to the protection of these endangered species.

Additionally to this, research shows that our physical and mental wellbeing are intrinsically linked to the health of the planet, so taking care of ourselves means we are taking care of nature (and vice versa).

Through my teaching, I hope to inspire environmental stewardship by dissolving the perceived boundary between us, as individuals, and the natural world.

The focus on the breath and the elements—exist both in the body and the environment. Caring for the Earth therefore becomes a form of self-care.

When we practice yoga, a shift toward caring for nature happens organically through a mix of physical grounding, philosophical teachings, and a heightened sense of connectedness.

You can also contact me directly by email or join the WhatsApp group.

  • Every class will be hosted on Tunnel Beach (existing Happy Valley access is essential). Depending on the weather, we will either be located on the platform in front of the beach, or within Odyssey Coffee (this will be confirmed via the WhatsApp group).

  • There will be a range of classes available to suit different abilities and interests. Full details will be shared on the WhatsApp group and Facebook page.

  • Absolutely! Because I am a new teacher, my classes will be aimed at beginners. There will always be modifications if you are finding any poses too difficult, and there will be no pressure to push yourself beyond your limits. This is a safe space.

  • Because I am a new teacher, my classes will be sequenced primarily for beginners/L1 yogis. However, everyone is welcome and I like to think that the community aspect alone will be worth your time! You can, of course, make your own modifications for your level of practice (but this will be at your own discretion and should not put pressure on other participants). And please go easy on me :)

  • A single session costs £10 but if you sign up for the pass, you will get 4 classes for the price of 3 (valid for 1 month). For those able to attend multiple classes per week, the monthly unlimited (£60) membership would be the best option.

Please note that proceeds from these classes will be used to support critical research on marine turtles in Cyprus.

Payment details will be shared on the confirmation email you will receive once your registration is accepted.

  • My main aim for starting this club was to ensure that people have the opportunity to support their own wellbeing through the regular practice of yoga and mindfulness (which I believe everyone can benefit from).

But my other huge passion is protecting the natural environment. As such, I’m currently doing a Masters in Wildlife & Conservation Management. As part of my final year dissertation project, I am conducting critical research on the impact of human intervention on marine turtles in Cyprus, in collaboration with a local research centre. By participating in my classes, you are making this research possible!

Yoga can help people to embrace and feel more connected to nature. In doing so, they feel more compelled to protect it. For me, it is a win-win!
