Sunday Morning Yoga Club
Welcome
I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to share my love for yoga and mindfulness with the Episkopi community here in Cyprus!
Having practiced yoga for 15+ years, I was really hoping that I could continue this during our two-year posting here. I was therefore disappointed to learn that it is not currently a regular offering.
Whilst I tried to continue practising online, I realised quickly that it’s the community and connectedness that really makes yoga. I attended some local classes but the one hour round-trip, the cost, plus the language barrier made it quite prohibitive.
So, I thought I’d better do something about it! I spent the winter obtaining my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and now I have the joy of sharing the benefits of yoga with this lovely community. I can’t wait to get started.
Whether you’re looking to increase your flexibility and focus, gain strength and stamina, or reduce stress and find some peace within your busy mind—yoga is exactly what you need.
Add to that a beautiful beach setting, an opportunity to give back to nature (more on that below), and a supportive community… I’ve got you covered 🩵
A gentle pause from the pace of everyday life, Sunday morning yoga club is designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and return to yourself—through guided movement, restorative breathing, and time to simply be.

giving back to nature
All of the proceeds raised through the club will be directly used to fund vital research on marine turtle populations in Cyprus, as part of my Master’s thesis.
I am collaborating with Enalia Physis, a local Environmental Research Centre, to study the impact of tourism on protected turtles in key hot spots across the island.
Without the funds raised through these classes, I would be unable to carry out the necessary field work. So I am extremely grateful to any of you who decide to join, and you can be proud that you are directly contributing to the protection of these endangered species.
Additionally to this, research shows that our physical and mental wellbeing are intrinsically linked to the health of the planet, so taking care of ourselves means we are taking care of nature (and vice versa).
Through my teaching, I hope to inspire environmental stewardship by dissolving the perceived boundary between us, as individuals, and the natural world.
The focus on the breath and the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space)—exist both in the body and the environment. Caring for the Earth therefore becomes a form of self-care.
When we practice yoga, a shift toward caring for nature happens organically through a mix of physical grounding, philosophical teachings, and a heightened sense of connectedness.

Every class will be hosted on Tunnel Beach (existing Happy Valley access is essential). We will ideally position ourselves on the sand as near to the sea as possible (#vibes!) but may need to relocate to the slabs outside MTW when turtle nesting season is in full swing.

We will meet every Sunday, commencing 12 April 2026. For April, the sessions will run from 9am to 10am. From May, we will likely start from 8am (this will be confirmed in advance via WhatsApp & Facebook).
Hopefully you can also join for a social coffee in Odyssey directly after class!

Absolutely! Because I am a new teacher, my classes will be aimed at beginners. There will always be modifications if you are finding any poses too difficult, and there will be no pressure to push yourself beyond your limits. This is a safe space.
-
Because I am a new teacher, my classes will be sequenced primarily for beginners/L1 yogis. However, everyone is welcome and I like to think that the community aspect alone will be worth your time! You can, of course, make your own modifications for your level of practice (but this will be at your own discretion and should not put pressure on other participants). And please go easy on me :)

I offer single season passes, as well as a four-class pass. A single session costs £10 but if you sign up for the pass, you will get 4 classes for the price of 3 (valid for 3 months).
Please note that all proceeds from these classes will be used to support critical research on marine turtles in Cyprus.
Payment details will be shared on the confirmation email you will receive once your registration is accepted.

I believe that everybody should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of yoga and mindfulness, and that money should never be a prohibiting factor. I also want to create a safe and welcoming environment, where nobody feels excluded. If you are keen to attend but are genuinely struggling to make it work, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Absolutely no judgement here!

My main aim for starting this club was to ensure that people have the opportunity to support their own wellbeing through the regular practice of yoga and mindfulness (which I believe everyone can benefit from).
But my other huge passion is protecting the natural environment. As such, I’m currently doing a Masters in Wildlife & Conservation Management. As part of my final year dissertation project, I am conducting critical research on the impact of human intervention on marine turtles in Cyprus, in collaboration with a local research centre. By participating in my classes, you are making this research possible!
Yoga can help people to embrace and feel more connected to nature. In doing so, they feel more compelled to protect it. For me, it is a win-win!
